Courts in California and Washington have admitted the Family Threat Assessment into court as reliable evidence.  In fact, the courts have found the Family Threat Assessments to be of such value, that traditional child custody evaluation orders have been vacated based on the results of these reports.

In Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernadino Counties, the supervising Family Law presiding Judges have reviewed the Family Threat Assessment and have disseminated the information to all Family Law Judicial Officers in their respective counties for use.  In several courtrooms, Judicial Officers have ordered a Family Threat Assessment in lieu of a traditional child custody evaluation when requested by the involved parties and their attorneys.
